The town of Hranice can be found in the Moravian Gate area between the Odra Hills and the Podbeskydské hills. This unique location has given rise to a town with a rich history. An integral part of this strategic location was the arrival of the railway and other transport and engineering corridors, which often form significant barriers in terms of urban planning and are not only an asset but also a limit to the structure of the town.
We approach the design of the upgraded railway and the new Hranice na Moravě Terminal building as an opportunity to connect the structure of the city in its overall and more detailed scale. We propose the construction of the terminal as the centrepiece of this connection and a symbol of the new development opportunities for the immediate area and the whole city, which will benefit greatly from the arrival of the high-speed line.
