Florenc West – Block 04

The design is based on an analysis of the existing conditions and the need to create a sustainable and resilient urban environment that respects the historical values of the location while also responding to the challenges of contemporary urbanization.

The solution represents a fundamental urban and architectural intervention within the context of the current urban structure of Prague. The urban block is a unique connection between two different urban worlds: the emerging urban structure on the north and the railway infrastructure on the southern side. The concept respects these two distinct contexts, aiming to harmonize and integrate them into a functional and aesthetic whole, while establishing the need for a boundary between the acoustically dynamic railway environment and the quieter, more stable core of the Florenc district.

Block 4 also integrates functions that support a vibrant public space and ensure its activity throughout the day. Retail units located in the building’s ground floors provide space for commercial and service functions, which are essential for creating an active urban environment. In addition to the retail units, the project also includes a hotel, which serves as a supporting function for the surrounding urban structure and enhances the area’s attractiveness for tourists and visitors.
