Železniční stanice Nymburk je vstupní bránou města i jeho kvalitní součástí. Návrh vkládá do území vysoce efektivní přestupní uzel, dává historické budově nový život, utvrzuje ji jako lokální dominantu a kultivuje přilehlé prostory v území.

Architektonické pojetí navrženého zastřešení spojuje novou terminálovou halu a historickou budovu v jedné linii. Stejným zastřešením také přirozeně propojuje nástupiště vlaků i přednádražní prostor s autobusovým terminálem. Striktní linearita odvozená od nástupní hrany se mění v konkávní křivku směrem do veřejného prostoru odkazující na urbanistický půdorys města Nymburk, umožňující stálý vizuální kontakt s historickou budovou – ta zůstává hlavní dominantou přednádražního prostoru a přilehlých veřejných prostranství. Navržené principy organizace terminálové haly, vazby na okolní prostředí a úpravy přednádražního prostoru zajišťují přímé a rychlé přestupní vazby a snadnou orientaci všech cestujících.

Nymburk railway station is the gateway to the town and a quality part of it. The design inserts a highly efficient transfer hub into the area, gives the historic building new life, establishes it as a local landmark and cultivates the adjacent spaces in the area.

The architectural concept of the proposed roofing combines the new terminal hall and the historic building in a single line. The same roofing also naturally connects the train platform and the forecourt area with the bus terminal. The strict linearity derived from the platform edge changes into a concave curve towards the public space, referring to the urban plan of the city of Nymburk, allowing a permanent visual contact with the historic building – which remains the main dominant feature of the station forecourt area and the adjacent public spaces. The proposed principles of the terminal hall organisation, the links to the surrounding environment and the modifications of the pre-railway area ensure direct and fast transfer links and easy orientation of all passengers.
