The Troja-Podbaba Navigation Canal is a key element of the Vltava Waterway and an integral part of the recreational area between the Royal Game Reserve Stromovka and Císařský island. We therefore propose not only a new bridge, but a complete transformation of the public space on both banks – without physical or visual barriers and in contact with the river. The bridge has the chance to become not only an effective connection, but also a destination for many visitors. The redevelopment of the site will define new attractive places for recreation in the immediate vicinity of, under and on the new bridge. The proposal prioritises pedestrian and cycle movements by significantly calming car traffic.
